Direct rendering is more repeatable
A PDF-to-JPG converter renders the complete page at a defined scale without browser toolbars, crop handles or inconsistent zoom. That makes output dimensions and page framing more predictable.
A screenshot depends on screen resolution and the zoom level used at capture time.
Screenshots can be useful for small excerpts
If you only need a visible portion of one page, a screenshot may be faster than converting an entire document. Be careful that the screenshot does not include notifications, browser chrome or unrelated information.
For full-page exports or many pages, direct conversion is normally cleaner and easier to automate.
Both create raster images
Neither method preserves selectable PDF text or links in the resulting JPG. If those features matter, share or extract the PDF page instead of converting it to an image.
Review sensitive content because both methods reproduce whatever is visibly present on the page.
Choose whole-page evidence or a deliberate excerpt
Pageivo PDF to JPG renders the whole page at its fixed 2× scale; it does not crop to a selected region. A screenshot captures the visible screen region and may omit the lower half of a page, include browser controls, or contain unrelated notifications.
For a whole-page submission, compare the four page edges and all content after conversion. For a deliberate excerpt, keep enough surrounding context and label it as an excerpt rather than presenting it as the complete original.

Neither method is sanitization
Images reproduce visible information and may still contain private content. Use a proper redaction workflow first when disclosure is not authorized.

- Use the simplest method that preserves the intended scope.
- Open the actual saved image and inspect framing and private details.
- Retain the PDF for provenance and any interactive features.
