What Pageivo converts from a HEIC file
Pageivo uses its Images to PDF tool for HEIC and HEIF input. It decodes the file into a JPEG image in the browser, then places that image on a PDF page. The intermediate JPEG setting is 0.9; it is a quality parameter, not a guarantee of lossless conversion.
If the decoder returns several images from one input, Pageivo currently uses the first. This tool therefore should not be used as an archive that promises to preserve every image, Live Photo component or auxiliary item in a HEIF container. Retain the original file.
Make a one-file conversion first
- Open Images to PDF and select one HEIC or HEIF file.
- Check that the file appears in Selected files, then choose Images to PDF.
- Download the PDF and compare its image with the original in a compatible photo viewer.
- Check orientation, colors, cropping and small text. Pageivo fits the image proportionally onto an A4 page with a margin.
- After the first file works, add a small batch in the desired order and verify that one page was created for each selected file.
Choose the fallback that matches the failure
A .heic filename does not prove that the underlying file is valid or decodable by this browser library. A valid image that opens in one application can still use a feature that a different decoder does not support.

Camera settings and existing photos are different
On supported Apple devices, choosing Most Compatible in the Camera format settings changes new captures to JPEG. It does not convert photos already stored as HEIC. For existing photos, use an application's export function; Apple's documentation describes exporting JPEG or PNG with Photos or Preview on a Mac.
Sharing can also change the delivered format depending on the destination. Check the file you actually selected rather than assuming that every photo from an iPhone will arrive as HEIC.
Use PDF for delivery and keep HEIC for the original
A PDF is useful when a recipient expects one ordered document instead of several photo files. It is not automatically a smaller or more faithful photographic archive. Inspect the downloaded pages and keep the source images separately.
For receipts or photographed forms, the smallest important characters matter more than a good-looking thumbnail. If the conversion alters a detail you need, use a JPEG or PNG export that you have already reviewed, then build the PDF from that copy.
