Map the current and desired order
Write the existing page numbers next to the desired sequence. If a four-page scan currently contains pages 3, 1, 2, 4, the new sequence is simply 2, 3, 1, 4 when referring to the positions in the current file.
Be careful to distinguish the printed page number visible on a document from the PDF page position shown by the viewer. They may not match when a cover page is present.
Use ranges for long correct sections
When most of a document is already correct, combine individual page numbers with ranges. A sequence such as 2,1,3-18 can swap the first two pages while keeping the remaining section unchanged.
Avoid typing long sequences by hand when a range can represent the same order more clearly.
Check page count and transitions
A reorder operation can intentionally duplicate or omit pages depending on the sequence you enter. Compare the final page count with the source if you expect a simple rearrangement.
Inspect page transitions around every changed area so a misplaced scan does not remain hidden in the middle of the document.
Translate printed labels into source positions
Suppose a four-page file visibly contains printed pages 3, 1, 2, 4. Reorder PDF takes positions in this current file, so enter 2,3,1,4. Entering 1,2,3,4 would leave the incorrect scan unchanged.
Pageivo uses the same selection engine for reordering and extracting. It permits duplicates and omissions. For a pure rearrangement, your sequence must include each source position exactly once. Matching the final page count is necessary but insufficient: 1,1,3,4 has four entries but loses page 2.

Know when a different operation is needed
Reordering does not rotate a sideways page or update its printed number. Correct orientation in an appropriate editor, and do not add new numbering merely to hide a sequence mistake.
- Write down current positions and their visible labels.
- Enter 2,3,1,4 for this hypothetical four-page scan.
- Download and verify that the visible labels are now 1,2,3,4.
- For long files, check every moved boundary and account for every position once.
