Choose a position that avoids content
Headers and footers are common page-number locations, but the best position depends on the page layout. Check whether existing text, footnotes, logos or crop marks already occupy that area.
A centered footer works well for many reports, while a right-aligned header may suit technical or business documents.
Decide the starting number
A PDF may be part of a larger packet, so its first page does not always need to display 1. If an earlier section ends on page 12, the next PDF can begin at 13 before the files are merged.
Visible printed numbers inside a scan are not automatically replaced by adding a new numbering layer.
Check every page size
Mixed-size PDFs can place the same relative number position differently on each page. Inspect portrait, landscape and unusually sized pages after numbering.
Keep an unnumbered source if the document may need a different pagination scheme later.
Number a three-page sample from 13
If an earlier section ends at 12, choose Start at 13. A three-page input receives 13, 14 and 15. The starting value must be a whole number of zero or greater. Pageivo prints plain numbers on every page, with a fixed 11-point font.
Choose Bottom center, Bottom right, Top center or Top right. The tool does not offer “Page X of Y”, Roman numerals, a skip-cover toggle, selected-page ranges or removal of old numbering. Check that the chosen area is blank in the original.

Do not accumulate numbering layers
Running the tool again on a numbered result adds another layer; it does not replace the first one. Keep an unnumbered master for revisions. If every available position conflicts with content, use a layout editor instead.
- Make the final page sequence first.
- Choose a position and enter a whole start value.
- Download and inspect every page, especially mixed sizes or rotations.
- If numbers overlap existing content, return to the unnumbered source and choose a different position.
